This entry is all about my involvement with Buddhism today. Sorry that it might not be interesting for all. But I just wanna share my happy experience here and hope that you'd feel happy with me too.

About a month ago, I went to visit and old blind monk, Luangta Puang, at his cave. Yeah litterally, it is a cave. He lived there since his early days when his eyes still functioned well, building up the temple bit by bit by himself. Many years have passed and his eyes got sore from staring at too much sunlight or something.. that later on, at the age of 70, one of his eyes was completely blind.. and about a year or two later.. the other eye went blind too.

A chinese doctor who knew him, went to visit and gave him an acupuncture treament from time to time.. but it was not on a regular basis. So she invited him to stay near her place for more treatment then an operation in Bangkok.

So I went to visit him today at the hospital. Miraculously he could actually see !! after the operation for a while. Then the eye got swallen a bit. So the doctor closed it up and let him rest a lot. Hoping he could still see after this.

Actually the reason that I went there today was partly because I wanted to deliver the WACOM tablet to Luang Pi Cherry, my monk friend, who is constantly working on dharma articles and blog. The tablet belonged to my boyfriend, then been given to my sister, but it has never reached my sister because she's in Japan. So Josh and Tarin agreed to give this to my monk friend for better benefit of others. And it had been on my shelf for a big while since I didn't really have a chance to meet up with Luang Pi Cherry. Ok.. so the first mission is done.

Then Luang Pi Cherry asked if I could deliver a parcel for Luang Loong Supol who is having a broadcasting class at college not far from my place. (He normally stays somewhere remote, I'm not sure). So I carried the box to my car and drove off for the place. It took me a while before I could reach Luang Loong by phone. So.. ok my second mission is done.

Stupid me who didn't really have any meal since the morning got really hungry when it was nearly dinner time. Then unexpectedly, my dad called. So I stopped by at his place and had some daddy-daughter talk. My dad is the hard case. He barely believes in anything except himself. He almost has no religion, I think. I told him about lots of things, including my Buddhism practice. I didn't wanna talk much because I was not sure how open he is to this. But actually he did listen! And he mentioned that I looked kind of "glowing" in his opinion, and it might be from the practice. (It must be the foundation ha ha). He said he felt I was calmer, and happier, and a lot more easy going. I told him I listened to Pra Ajarn Pramote's CD on getting to know myself. And finally he asked if he could have the CD too!!!

This is the most amazing and wonderful experience I have today. Giving any material thing in the world could not be matched with showing the way to enlightenment. I am glad that he actually got interested. Only a bit is enough. I feel like one of my duties of being a good daughter is done. Another mission completed!!

The next person that I'm worry about is my beloved boyfriend. Only if he could understand Thai, he would totally see and understand what I'm trying to do for sure. I could translate most of the stuff and communicate with him without any problem. But translating something Buddhism is something I'm not so sure about for I am not the enlightened one myself. I wouldn't dare.

But well.. if the most stubborn person in my opinion like my dad could appreciate Buddhism practice now. I hope one day my boyfriend could as well. Let's hope we could still have our lives, consciousnesses, and enough time for the practice. After all, we never know what we will become in the next life. Being a human is the luckiest thing of all. We should not waste this opportunity by letting each day goes by and got lost within our own illusion again and again and again.

Well.. I will just hope for the best now.

The youngest doll maker I've ever met

Back in February, 2009, I was a featured artist in CWC's "Blythe A Wonder World, 7th Anniversary Charity Exhibition" in Bangkok Thailand. Being an artist required me to create series of Blythe doll for the exhibition, organize a custom show, workshop, and a Blythe clinic -- sessions where people with problem customizing their dolls could ask me for the tips, tricks, and advices.

On the very last session of the Blythe clinic, a girl came to me and ask if I do comission customization. I said I didn't have time to do it anymore. But I would give you advice for free. She frawned and walked away. After a while, when my sister, Tarin and I was helping others with their dolls, she came back again. We told her she was welcomed to have a seat and watch us doing stuff. Later on, she took out her doll and told us that..

"This is my custom".

My sister and I was amazed!! "Did you do it by yourself?"

"Yeah.. I kept doing it many times.. but I failed".

I looked at the doll and all the details she has done, it was so amazing how she opened the head, paint the lids and lips, changed eye brows, and even tried to carve the lips by herself!.

"How old are you!!"

"I'm nine this year"

"How many Blythe doll do you have?"

"I have only this one"

Then her mom told us that she tried to learn to custom Blythe doll by herself, without any help from anyone. Everytime she failed, she would cry so badly.. then after a while, she'd just start fixing her doll again.. and again. As a customizer myself, I could tell that this doll has been done lots of things. The eyes stuck, the eye lids were very thin and distorted by overly use of thinner, countless scratches on her face, etc. The girl has put lots of effort trying to customize the doll. It's not perfect, but it touched me so so so so much. Of course that she has a limitation of being a 9 years old. But she has a gut and courage I find it hard to see in a grown up.

"You should be proud of your creation. She is special because you made her so"

"I just hope that I could fix her properly, that's why I was looking for a commission customizer".

At that moment, I know that it was a must for me, to make her dream come true. Call me arrogant, but I don't normally customize Blythe dolls for others, especially for commission, as I believe that a doll, or any toy in the world, are not just to be kept, but to be played and inspire people's creativity. And this girl showed that to me completely. It was Mindtrigger's honour to fix and customize this doll for her. She was so happy when we agreed to do it. So happy that she was jumping around..

"Please make her smile like this.. and please give her a longggggg purple hair.. please change the eye colours, please do anything to her.. please make her the most beautiful doll in the world!!".

Well.. I am not sure about the most beautiful doll in the world part, but I promised her to try my best. Her mom tried to commission me for the work, but we rejected and told her that the girl has already made our day. We were so impressed and we would do it for her.

So here how the customization came out. We didn't do a heavy make over for we wanted to keep a bit of what she did. Like eye brows, some eyechips.

BEFORE : The original doll the girl customized by herself.

AFTER : We secretly name the doll "Memoru" because she looks like a character from an ancient anime we know.

:P We signed for her and of course, we gave her the Frosty Frock outfit too.

Her mom called us and wanted to give some commission still, so we told her to donate 1000 bahts to poor school in a rural area of Thailand. After we finished, my sister needed to go back to Japan for her study, and I went to China right away for my work. So we were kind of lost contact with her after we left Thailand. We just hope that the doll could make her day as she did made ours.

Subject: ใครว่า มาร์ค ไม่มีน้ำยา ฮึ...

สิบ วันในการทำงานของรัฐบาลนายอภิสิทธิ์ เวชชาชีวะ หลายคนจับจ้องมองแต่มาตรการที่ใช้ในการแก้ไขปัญหาเศรษฐกิจ และหลายคนก็พยายามกดดันให้รัฐบาลชนกับกลุ่มพันธมิตรประชาชนเพื่อประชาธิปไตย เพื่อให้เกิดเป็นศึกกระหนาบเหลือง-แดงถล่มรัฐบาลผสมให้ล้มคว่ำไปโดยเร็ว ที่สุด หลายคนยังคงมุ่งขยายผลความขัดแย้งและเชิดชูบทบาทของกลุ่มคนเสื้อแดง ทั้ง ๆ ที่ยังเหลืออยู่สักเท่าใดก็ยังเป็นที่น่าสงสัย แต่แทบไม่มีใครให้ความสนใจในมาตรการอีกด้านหนึ่งที่ดำเนินไปอย่างประณีต สุขุม ลึกซึ้ง แต่มีผลเป็นการหยุดยั้งโครงการมหาประลัยที่ล้างผลาญชาติเลย

ดังนั้นแม้เวลาผ่านไปแค่ 10 วัน เรากลับเห็นว่าผลงานในการหยุดยั้งโครงการมหาประลัยที่ล้างผลาญชาติของรัฐบาลชุดนี้มีผลที่น่าพอใจ

เรื่องแรก คือการคว่ำโครงการถนนปลอดฝุ่นที่มีวงเงินต้องใช้งบประมาณขั้นต้น 30,000 ล้านบาท และมีการผลักดันนำเสนอต่อคณะรัฐมนตรีเศรษฐกิจไปแล้ว แต่ก็ถูกโยนทิ้งไป เป็นการประหยัดเงินของชาติถึง 30,000 ล้านบาท และหยุดยั้งการโกงชาติครั้งใหญ่อีกครั้งหนึ่ง

ที่ เรียกว่าโครงการถนนปลอดฝุ่น ความจริงก็คือโครงการบูรณะถนนลูกรังธรรมดานั่นเอง แต่ใช้สีสันแต้มแต่งสร้างวาทะกรรมหรูเป็นโครงการถนนปลอดฝุ่นด้วยการใช้ยาง มะตอยลาดหรือบูรณะถนนลูกรัง ซึ่งความจริงใช้เงินน้อยกว่าที่ตั้งงบประมาณไว้มาก แต่โครงการนี้ก็เป็นที่รู้กันว่าเป็นขนมเค้กชิ้นใหญ่ของนักการเมืองที่บวก ราคาไว้เกินจริงถึง 5 เท่า

การโยนทิ้งโครงการนี้จึงมีผลเป็นการประหยัดเงินให้กับประเทศชาติ 30,000 ล้านบาท

เรื่องที่สอง คือโครงการจัดหารถบัสเอ็นจีวีของ ขสมก. ซึ่งหากซื้อรถบัสดังกล่าวก็จะสามารถซื้อได้ด้วยราคาเพียงคันละ 3,800,000 บาท หรือในราคาถูกกว่านั้น แต่จัดทำเป็นโครงการโคตรโกงมหาโกงในรูปแบบของการเช่าที่พิสดารที่สุดของโลก คือเช่าเป็นระยะเวลา 10 ปี ทั้ง ๆ ที่อายุการใช้งานของรถมีเพียง 5 ปีเท่านั้น และคิดเป็นค่าเช่าสิริรวมแล้วถึงคันละ 12 ล้านบาท เดิมตั้งโครงการไว้ 6,000 คัน แต่ในที่สุดก็ไม่อยากเสี่ยงแรงตีนของกลุ่มรถร่วม ขสมก. จึงตัดออกไป 2,000 คัน เหลือ 4,000 คัน แต่ก็ล้างผลาญชาติเป็นจำนวนเงินสูงมากร่วม 50,000 ล้านบาท และโครงการนี้คณะรัฐมนตรีเศรษฐกิจก็มีมติให้ทบทวนให้เหมาะสม นั่นคือจำนวนรถที่จัดหาต้องเหมาะสม ซึ่งความจริงไม่เกิน 2,000 คัน วิธีการจัดหาต้องเหมาะสมเช่น ซื้อเครื่องหรือชัชซีเข้ามาต่อตัวถังรถในประเทศไทย ทำให้เกิดการจ้างงานขึ้นในประเทศไทย และเพิ่มธุรกิจให้กับคนไทย และด้วยราคาที่เหมาะสมคือเมื่อรถราคา 3,800,000 บาท ก็ต้องใช้ราคานี้หรือต่ำกว่านี้เพราะเป็นการจัดหาจำนวนมาก ไม่ใช่ตั้งวงเงินใช้เงินถึงคันละ 12 ล้านบาท

การจัดการกับโครงการนี้ทำให้ประหยัดเงินให้กับประเทศชาติถึง 50,000 ล้านบาท

เรื่องที่สาม คือโครงการผันน้ำจากประเทศลาวลอดอุโมงค์ใต้แม่น้ำโขงเข้าสู่ภาคอีสานของไทย ซึ่งตั้งวงเงินงบประมาณไว้ถึง 70,000 ล้านบาท และยังจะต้องมีโครงการต่อเนื่องอีกหลายโครงการ และใช้เงินรวมกันเพิ่มขึ้นอีกประมาณ 40,000 ล้านบาท

โครงการนี้ เป็นโครงการที่ผลาญชาติที่แท้จริงและชัดเจนที่สุด เพราะประเทศไทยไม่ได้ขาดน้ำ ปัญหาอยู่ที่ไม่มีแหล่งกักเก็บน้ำ ปริมาณน้ำในภาคอีสานมีมากพอจนเป็นเหตุให้เกิดน้ำท่วมทุกปี ทั้งในภาคอีสานไหลบ่าลงมาท่วมภาคกลางและกรุงเทพมหานคร นั่นคือฤดูฝนน้ำท่วมเพราะไม่มีแหล่งกักเก็บน้ำ พอหน้าแล้งก็ขาดน้ำเพราะไม่มีแหล่งกักเก็บน้ำอีกเช่นเดียวกัน หากผันน้ำเข้ามาเพิ่ม น้ำก็จะยิ่งท่วม แต่ไม่สามารถแก้ไขปัญหาขาดน้ำได้ นอกจากนั้นการผันน้ำจากลาวซึ่งเป็นที่ต่ำขึ้นสู่ที่ราบสูงของภาคอีสานของไทย จะสร้างรายจ่ายประจำให้กับประเทศไทยตลอดไป ทำให้ชาติล่มจม ในขณะที่ประชาชนในภาคอีสาน ภาคกลาง และกรุงเทพฯ ไม่ได้ประโยชน์อะไรเลย มีแต่ต้องรับภัยน้ำท่วมเท่านั้น

โครงการ นี้นักการเมืองอำนาจเก่าจัดตั้งขึ้นเพื่อหาประโยชน์โดยเฉพาะ มีการเตรียมการให้บริษัทจากประเทศจีนของนายเหยียนปิงเป็นผู้รับเหมา ด้วยราคาที่สูงกว่าความเป็นจริงถึง 300-400% และถ้าหากโครงการนี้เริ่มต้นขึ้นได้ก็จะต้องมีโครงการสืบเนื่องเพิ่มขึ้นอีก จำนวนมาก ซึ่งมีการเตรียมการโครงการรองรับไว้โดยต้องใช้วงเงินเพิ่มอีกราว 40,000 ล้านบาท

นาย อภิสิทธิ์ เวชชาชีวะ นายกรัฐมนตรีได้กล่าวปาฐกถาต่อที่ประชุมนักธุรกิจที่โรงแรมโฟร์ซีซั่นเมื่อ วันที่ 15 มกราคม 2552 และตอนหนึ่งได้พูดเกี่ยวกับโครงการนี้ว่าไม่มีความจำเป็น จะใช้วิธีการพัฒนาแหล่งน้ำภายในประเทศคือในภาคอีสานดีกว่า ซึ่งหมายความว่าโครงการมหาภัยโครงการนี้ได้ถูกรัฐบาลโยนทิ้งไปเรียบร้อยแล้ว

การ โยนทิ้งโครงการนี้จึงมีผลเป็นการประหยัดงบประมาณแผ่นดินรอบแรกถึง 70,000 ล้านบาท และป้องกันมิให้มีการตั้งโครงการโกงชาติขยายออกไปอีก 40,000 ล้านบาทด้วย สิริรวมแล้วกระบวนท่าเดียวนี้ก็สามารถประหยัดเงินแผ่นดินได้ถึง 110,000 ล้านบาท

4. สรุป ดัง นั้นในรอบ 10 วันของการเข้าทำหน้าที่บริหารราชการแผ่นดิน รัฐบาลนายอภิสิทธิ์ เวชชาชีวะ ก็ได้หยุดยั้งโครงการมหาประลัยที่ผลาญชาติไปแล้ว 3 โครงการใหญ่ คือ

4.1 โครงการถนนปลอดฝุ่น ซึ่งประหยัดเงินงบประมาณได้ถึง 30,000 ล้านบาท

4.2 โครงการรถบัสเอ็นจีวี จำนวน 4,000 คัน ซึ่งประหยัดเงินงบประมาณได้ถึง 50,000 ล้านบาท

4.3 โครงการผันน้ำจากลาวลอดอุโมงค์ใต้แม่น้ำโขงสู่ภาคอีสานของไทย ซึ่งประหยัดงบประมาณได้ถึง 110,000 ล้านบาท

สิริ รวมแล้ว 3 โครงการมหาประลัย รัฐบาลได้ประหยัดเงินให้กับประเทศชาติถึง 190,000 ล้านบาท นี่คือผลงานที่เราจำเป็นต้องนำมารายงานเพื่อร่วมกันปรบมือให้กับรัฐบาลผสม ชุดนี้ว่าคุ้มค่ากับเงินเดือนภาษีที่ ประชาชนจ่ายให้มากมายนัก และบุกเบิกแนวโน้มที่จะหยุดสถานการณ์ที่จะทำให้ชาติล่มจมได้อีกด้วย.
